All native episode of Flip My Florida Yard now airing

Be sure to monitor your local TV listings for the new reality series, Flip My Florida Yard, using humor and Florida-friendly landscape examples to promote individual landscape action to reduce water consumption and protect water quality. This series is a direct offshoot of the HowtodoFlorida episode sponsored by FANN in May 2016, where FANN members transformed a Bradenton couple’s front yard using native plants. The episode has resulted in work for FANN members, including two members not involved with the show production.

Flip My Florida Yard’s first season is airing now, with four episodes sponsored by FNGLA and a fifth episode sponsored by the Native Plant Horticulture Foundation with funding provided by generous donors. In the all native episode sponsored by the foundation, host Chad goes back to visit Berni and Brad in Bradenton and discovers how much enjoyment their new native plants are bringing them. Eco-friendly landscape converts, Brad and Berni have even gone to butterfly garden school at Tom Heitzman’s Sweet Bay Nursery. Then Chad travels to The Villages, where he interviews The Villages Chapter FNPS President Steve Turnipseed, whose own personal yard transformation has sparked a small revolution in this gated community.

HowdotodoFlorida Host and producer Chad Crawford has become an advocate for better landscaping that sustains Real Florida. Crawford Entertainment is actively seeking funding to produce a second season of Flip My Florida Yard. The Native Plant Horticulture Foundation would love to help Crawford produce more episodes promoting native plants and Real Florida landscapes.
